"We do not perceive what is in our own best interests".  I was reading a course of study the other day and this quote sort of jumped out at me.  So many times, if we truly lead an examined life, those things which, when happening, seemed so horrible actually turned out to be some of the best learning experiences we could have ever hoped for.  Sometimes it takes pain to drive home a valuable lesson, and other times that which seems a dream come true brings only heartache.  Truly bretheren, we can't always know what is in our best interests, because we can't see around corners! 

So..... if the above could be considered a truth, and I'm not saying it is true as it needs to be vetted out, then the events which approach us each and every day can't be intrinsically bad or good in and of themselves.  They can only be qualatative in terms of how they teach us that which we are here to learn.
